You may be one of the millions of Facebook users who excitedly created their Avatar and shared it in the past few days as the feature launched in the US.
If you’ve used the ‘hamburger’ menu in the bottom right corner of your mobile app to find the Avatars creator, then you may have overlooked a couple of important features that could have a positive impact on your business: Offers and Town Hall.
Creating an offer is a great way to connect with Facebook users who login near your location. When they access ‘see offers from local businesses’ it can mean great visibility for you! To create an offer from your business page, just follow these easy steps:
- Go to your Page.
- Click Offers on the left (if you don’t see Offers, you’ll need to add the Offers tab to your Page).
- Click Create an offer.
- Describe your offer. …
- Add a photo and select whether people can use the offer Online or In-Store. …
- Click Publish.
Next, be sure that you check out Facebook’s ‘Town Hall’. Increasingly, business owners and leaders are becoming aware of the importance of establishing a relationship with the legislators and lawmakers whose decisions can impact their business. You can quickly and easily find elected officials at every level of government by clicking on the ‘Town Hall’ option.

NOTE: To create your avatar, either click on ‘see more’ after accessing the menu in the lower right corner or go to the Facebook or Messenger comment composer, click on the “smiley” button, and then the sticker tab. Click “Create Your Avatar”! Don’t see it there? Be patient, this function is still rolling out in the US.
